How Lyrix AI works

When Lyrix ships, the loop is: upload a vocal, get a transcription, edit lines in the app or with Josh, generate new vocals timed to the song, then send the result toward MegaMix AI for mixing.

What makes it different from typing new lyrics

A lyric sheet cannot tell you if the new line crowds the snare or steals a breath. You need audio on the arrangement.

Lyrix is being built to put new words on the existing timing so you judge melody fit, not just rhyme on paper.

Until then, record a scratch of the new line over the instrumental — even a phone take — and bounce it into the session for a real listen.

A real workflow you can do today (and later in Lyrix)

Suppose the chorus line I been living reckless lands too on-the-nose and you want I been living restless with the same pocket.

Do the craft pass now. When Lyrix launches, you will skip the punch-in if the generate quality is enough.

1. Print a lyric sheet with timestamps. Mark only the broken line.
2. Count syllables and stressed beats in the original. Write a replacement that fits the same grid.
3. Mute the old line and punch in a dry take, or record a phone scratch aligned to the click.
4. Crossfade 10–30 ms. Match clip gain to the surrounding vocal.
5. Send the full vocal stem plus beat to MegaMix AI and ask to glue the punch-in so it does not jump in tone.

If the new line is clearer but the mix seam is obvious, the mix is not done.

Pitfalls and mix placement while you wait

The usual failure is a louder, drier punch-in sitting on a wet verse. Match reverb send and high-end before you judge the lyric.

Another failure: rewriting the whole chorus because one word annoyed you. Surgical edits sound more like the original performance.

Place the new line at the same gain as neighbors. Then mix in MegaMix AI. Add a MegaSFX whoosh only if the section change needs a camera move, not to hide a bad rewrite.
